Warren County At Coffee County 🥎 (3/18/25)

Coffee County defeats Warren…….

The Lady Pioneers traveled to rival Coffee County on Tuesday and put up a fight through 5 1/2 innings. With a 2-0 lead, the Red Raiders finally busted the game open with six runs in the bottom of the 6th to put the game away and win 8-0. The Pioneers were led by Ky Damon, Lola Wells, Ceilee Gudat, and Ali Young, all with one hit.

The Lady Pioneers had runners in scoring position a few times but could never get the timely hit they needed, as Coffee County ace Lily Norman threw a complete game, shutout, and struck out 15.

Gudat made it through 5 innings, giving up just two runs, but Coffee County had an explosive inning in the 6th to effectively put the game away.

Senior second baseman Lily Rains was injured while at the plate. It looked like a shoulder injury, but hopefully, she won’t need to miss many games.

Warren County’s next game was scheduled for Thursday but has been canceled due to impending weather. It has been rescheduled for March 26th.

Coach Gooby Martin Quote of the Game

“Ceilee, way to throw the ball. The difference is they got their hits with their runners in scoring position, we didn’t get our hits. We just didn’t make enough plays for you.”

Lady Pioneer Player of the Game

Ceilee Gudat provided the Lady Pioneers with a chance by limiting the explosive Coffee County offense to just 2 runs heading into the 6th inning, at which point the Red Raiders strung together a series of hits to break the game open. Additionally, Gudat recorded one of the team’s four hits.
